Mr. Alvin Waterhouse is a friendly and dedicated individual awarded his Black Belt in the Art of American Kenpo Karate, under Ed Parker’s (Father of American Karate) Protege 8th degree Master Tommy Chavies. Mr. Waterhouse began his early foundational training in the art of Kenpo, building his love and fascination with the art under the expert instruction of William Kongaika in Diamond Bar, California. After several years of training on his own, he was fortunate to meet and train extensively with Mr. Tommy Chavies earning black belt honor. Mr Chavies has inspired Mr. Waterhouse to look deeper into the concepts and principles of the art, to allow himself to see the sophistication in American Kenpo Karate. Through deep reflection, study and critical analysis of the science of motion concepts of kenpo became clear. Mr. Chavies’ overwhelming confidence in the merits of American Kenpo Karate and his awe inspiring instruction, to this day, sets the precedent for first class quality instruction, Mr Waterhouse through the guidance of Mr.Tommy Chavies preserve the art with no compromises, as a gift given by the founder Mr. Edmund K. Parker. As a certified counselor in the public school system, Mr Waterhouse continues to train with Mr Chavies as he shares his knowledge as a American Kenpo Concepts International Instructor.
